Mozilla labs just launched jetpack, an extension scheme which make it easy to write extensions. I wanted to try and did a little toy on top of it.
jetpack is real similar to the chrome extensions. Both are "webby" aka using knowledge common web developpers. As they are so similar, compatibility libraries will popup and people will have to write extensions only once.
I do hopes this jetpack will be included in mainstream firefox.
